I am a real, live Latin teacher.  I say that because there aren’t many of us.  When I finished my undergrad as a Latin Teacher with a Spanish Teaching minor, I saw that year that there were around 12 people that year with that combination.  I’ve done a lot of things, as you can see from my resume, at times working in educational administration or distance learning, but I have always taught.

Price-wise, I’m keeping it at a clean $0.75/min online and $75/hr live.  That means if you have a little question, it’ll cost you a buck, and if you want an hour, it won’t cost you any more than the rate which all my unlicensed competition charges.  I’ve worked in a tutoring house in the past, so I can guarantee I’m more qualified than most any of their employees.  I probably have a copy of the textbook you’re using, if not we can arrange that.  And I also do intro or refresher courses, one-night or one-week, for schools and camps, churches and colleges.  Imagine a one night Biblical Latin class for your seminary or church.

I will archive all our text-based discussions on this site, so know that.  I’ll do my best to change the proper names to protect the innocent–I’m not here to publish your gossip, but to trim the conversation down to a marketable and efficient lesson.  I may even rewrite some of your questions and my answers to make us both look smarter!

If your parents need any more upsell, remind them I have two teaching licenses in two states each (totalling four credentials).  Those four certificates require two states worth of very extensive (and expensive) background checks, so I’m safe (or, you’re safe, as it were.)  I’ve taken a few semesters of Greek, served in numerous religious capacities, and my wife knows Hebrew fluently and French quite well (and a bit of Syriac.)  You can also google me–a good percentage of those hits are me.  And of course your parents can call me at (415) 827-5630.  That’s a Marin County, CA number in case you’re wondering…
